In this collaboration between ECAL and the furniture brand e15, I had to think of a way to use the leftovers produced in the making of the BIGFOOT table.
Those beams, with a section of 135x135mm, appeared ideal to me as shelf supports, avoiding the need of any triangulation system.
The assembly is really simple, and also participate to the visual rythme of the shelf: the beams are screwed to each other through the boards with a threaded rod in a metric insert. With this method the tightening point is unpredictable, in that way the beams are all twisted in different directions.
